FAQ

Why should I choose Samantha Grey as my photographer?
Anyone can point a camera at a dog and take a picture. After all, most proud puppy owners take lots of pictures of their dogs! Professional photography offers you something more artistic, beautiful, and meaningful. Wouldn’t you rather remember your lifelong companion through well-composed, meaningful photographs than blurry snapshots that don’t really show you the dog you know?

As for why choose me over someone else? Because I will capture your pet and the love in your relationship in a way that no one else can. I have spent my entire life in the company of animals and I understand their mannerisms and their relationships with their people in a way that most people just aren’t sensitive to. It takes a lifelong pet lover to photograph pets in a way that other pet lovers understand.

I’ve never done this before. How do we get started?
Shoot me an email! We’ll talk about your pets and what you’re looking for and build a great session from there. Your session can be at your home, at a park, or at any other location of your choice. The thing I am most concerned with is to make sure that your pet is comfortable with the location you choose. My goal is to make sure that the session is fun for you and for your pet!

What are your prices?
You can read about my prices in detail on my pricing page.

Can I get a CD of the images?
Of course! The digital files from your session are a wonderful keepsake to add to the family archives. Digital files can be purchased either one-at-a-time, or all together for a substantial discount.

How long does the session take?
Most sessions take 90 minutes, but can take longer if we are photographing more than two pets.

Can I bring more than one pet?
Sure! Coverage for up to two pets is standard, but more can be added for a small fee.

What should I bring to the session?

Although all I really need is you and your pet, I encourage you to bring a favorite toy as well as high-value treats. I keep freeze-dried liver treats, tennis balls, and squeakers around, but you are the best judge of what really gets your dog’s attention. Beyond that, please do bring anything and everything that you want in your photos. If your pet has a favorite toy or blanket, bring that! Think also of items that you associate with your pet, like collar charms, name tags, etc. If your pet has an engraved water bowl, by all means, bring it along!

What should I do at the session?
You will be my assistant at the session! Although you’ll be helping me with getting your pet to show off his moves, your most important job at the session is to have fun. Animals are a lot happier when their owners are having fun and it shows in the photos!
